Stem valve cap got stolen...
Stem valve cap got stolen...
Interestingly enough, when I arrived at work today.. was opening the back door to grab my bag, I noticed that my rear left rim looks a bit different..
than I see that the stem valve cap is MISSING...
I believe some kids must have taken this to add some bling bling to their cars...
but why they took only one.. I dunno if I should use the ugly black one to replace it; use all 4 ugly black ones; buy a new set from Enkei ??

man, just go to crappy tire and buy a couple sets... they're like 4$ or something. i've also lost a few. but lately the new set has been sitting pretty tight for the last while.
i mainly don't like locking caps due to the annoyance that i would have to go through to open it to check the pressure. I think it'd rather lose cheap-o caps and get them stolen than to use locking caps. By cheap-o i mean they have to at least be metal...black ugly rubber ones don't count as stem caps :P

I've had zero issues since that old thread last year.
I was concerned about vandalism,
but have had no problems...... I think they just
& move onAs far as checking pressure... it's no more difficult than normal.
The little do-hickey just snaps on.
I use Loctite Medium Strength. Keeps the kids away most of the time. I use a Nut Driver to remove them for checking the air pressure which is a pain but I was real tired of replacing stolen ones. The chrome plated brass covers are getting hard to find in the Seattle area.

Seriously guys, I have learn to stay away from metal valve caps with G35 because of the TPS valves...
When I got my tires replaced after winter at local shop they were scared as hell to use force to unscrew them (they were stuck) These TPS valves are really easy to break and are costly to replace. It's not the first time I heard "tires shops" telling me to stick with plastic caps.
