+1^ for Steelcase. I purchased rims and snows from Steelcase tires and prices and service was good.

Don't wait too long.....
I've seen Steelcase lined up onto the street for snow installs.

I got Icebears, 17"

Hi Sam,
Sorry about the slow reply. I have attached the original email with the W300 Ice Bear quote in it so that you have it for reference.
For the G35 Coupe there are no 16" rims that will fit, so unfortunately that is not an option.
Ideally for your car you would run the staggered setup to keep the VDC system happy. Most people seem to be recommending staying with a staggered setup from what I have been able to research. The best combination for this would be a 225/50R17 in the front and a 235/50R17 in the rear. Only two options are available for this setup:
1. Michelin - Pilot Alpin PA2 - C$ 1153.89
2. Bridgestone - Blizzak LM-22 - C$ 1250.19
An alternate staggered setup would be 225/50R17 in the front and 225/55R17 in the rear. There are two options for these:
1. Hankook - W300 Ice Bear - C$ 712.11
2. Michelin - Pilot Alpin PA2 - 1163.69
For running the less recommended non-staggered sizing of 225/50R17 you have the following options:
1. Hankook - W300 Ice Bear - C$ 684.55 [Pricing has gone up a bit, but I can get you the previously quoted price of C$ 669.89)
2. Bridgestone - Blizzak LM-22 - C$ 1170.88
3. Michelin - Pilot Alpin PA2 - C$ 1126.14

The Hankook tires are in, the the Michelins or Bridgestones I can usually have in 3 to 5 days. It will take 4-5 business days to ship to you in Ontario.

Note: All of the above tires are V speed rated. There are other Q and H rated options, but given the performance nature of the car I would not recommend going that route unless you will be spending a lot of time in on mainly snow and ice covered roads. For regular commuting in winter conditions the V rated tires are great.

As for rotating tires by keeping the same size all the way around, it really depends on how much time you will spend on the winter tires and how comfortable you are with the VDC system not having the setup it expects.

Pilot Alpin's must go

When I bought my 2005 Z (used) earlier this year they also threw in a set of Michelin Pilot Alpin winter tires. Z's typically come equipped with a staggered set of rubber (225/45-18 F; 245/45-18 R) but for whatever reason the previous owner decided that, for the winter use, he would mount 245/45's on all four corners.

My car will sit out the winter in the garage, and as such I will not be needing my Pilot Alpin winters. I'll post a proper "FS" posting complete with pictures, etc. in the Marketplace section very soon. The previous owner put on maybe 4000 km on these tires so they are in really good condition.

Just thought I'd give everyone the heads up if they are looking for a good set of winters for a good price. I know it's better to go with smaller diameter winter wheels but there is always someone out there who wants to stay with their OEM diameters.

Cheers.
