PIAA Super Rozza
PIAA Super Rozza & Lowered (Finally!)
*** UPDATE *** Springs are now installed!!!! I've posted additional pics in a subsequent post below.
My 19's arrived...finally! It took a full two weeks to journey from California to Calgary. The wheels were stuck at the border clearing customs for a full week. Aarghhh!!!
Thankfully I had my wedding on Canada Day weekend to keep me partially distracted!
The wheels are used and in very good condition, although you couldn't tell by the condition of boxes that they were shipped in - UPS Ground service really beat them up! I was scared to open the boxes but was relieved when they emerged unscathed.
It's the typical staggered setup (F 19 x 9, +25 offset w/ 245/35-19, R 19 x 10, +25 offset w/275/35-19) mounted on Michelin Pilot A/S rubber. Hyperblack finish. The lip on the back is insane - approx 4.6" out, and 5" to the point where the edge of the lip meets the rubber.
The fronts look like they have a lot of tread left, but I will have to replace the rears by the end of the summer. I used to run 18" HP Evo wheels on my old G sedan, and perhaps it's just the thrill of having new wheels, but my PIAA rears with tires feel noticeably lighter than my 18's with 245 rubber.
Anyway, I'm off to my garage to put the new shoes on. Will post pics later. I think I'll go with a subtle drop - I like the look of the Hotchkis springs or perhaps Tanabe Sustec GF210's.
In the meantime here's a pic of the rear lip with the wheels straight out of the box (whichexplains all of the cardboard dust).

I threw on the new shoes earlier this evening and snapped some quick pics. My apologies in advance for the terrible photo quality. They were shot outside, at 10 pm in the evening and yes, the car is in need of a good wash.
After coming back from a quick cruise and the hasty photo session, I took a peek at the gap of my "4x4", er, um, my Z
. The fronts are about a 2 finger gap, but the back is somewhere between a 3 and 4 finger gap. Definitely needs a drop in the rear. I will lower the car within the month.
Here's a rear pic with the stock rear 245's on the left and the Michelin Pilot 275's on the left. The visual difference is noticeable - the 19 x10 ET25 wheel with the wide rubber pushes right out to the edge of the fender. I love it!

Here are some random shots. I'll take some more when the car is clean and in better light.

Got the Tanabe GF210 springs installed yesterday. The drop is looking pretty good. The manufacturer claims a front drop of 1" and rear of 1.2" but that must be after it settles. Right now my drops are as follows:
Passenger front: approx 5/8"
Passenger rear: approx 7/8"
Driver front: approx 5/8"
Driver rear: approx 7/8"
On the fronts I have a 1 finger wheel gap and on the back it's gone down from a 3 to 3+ finger gap to about 1 and a bit. So far no scraping at the driveway (thank god!). I'll monitor the drop after I've driven the car for a week or so. I know that my Eibachs settled quite a bit after I drove the car around.
Negative camber is a bit higher than I wanted - approx 2.1 degrees but it does tuck the rear wheels in nicely, esp when viewed from the back. Next summer when I replace the rears I'll probably buy a camber/toe kit so I can dial in the camber properly.
It was raining hard yesterday so I apologize for the sh*tty pics. Will clean up the car and will take some shots in good light sometime this weekend.
