It is funny you mention that Deane because I have already committed to two other 5 milers. I am doing one again this month and one in September. Maybe I am hooked now.

Shane, dynamite. Way to go!! Hooked is a good thing. Is one the Tim Hortons event on Sept 23 ? That's the one I was thinking of doing too. However I've got a significant event the next weekend- actually all my weekends (running and driving) in September so need to decide.

Send me a pm with what you are doing for training so I can help you if you want assistance. You will be able to take off a sizable chunk of time with the right program.

Sounds like you're enjoying it. You'll meet some great people and will feel so energized and healthy.

To be honest, I have no idea what the one in August is that I committed to. I just told a friend of mine today that I would do another one in August with him. The other one I committed to is the Hampton Five Miler http://www.hamptonriverrunners.ca/ which is on September 10th. Where is the Tim Hortons event on Sept 23rd held?

Do you have an extra hotel room? It's a long drive but I might consider it.

I was checking the results from last year and would have done pretty well in the 6.6 mile or the 15.1 miler. Just my 15 mile training run pace this morning would have put me in 9th or 10th place in the longer event last year.

My legs are so freakin' sore today! I decided to work from home today so I wouldn't have to walk as much. My legs are used to alot of walking because of golf, but man they sure aren't used to running.
