Angry HELP! - Need an new affordable performance clutch/flywheel combo

So I'm at 56K KM's, and my clutch is going (bought the car used at 24K KM's, so I don't know how much the previous owner abused it). I drive the car decently hard, since I believe that a sports car should be DRIVEN like a sports car, so I pop through the gears fairly quickly. When driving normally, I shift between 2-4K RPM's, but when going hard, I've hit redline.

So anyway, I went to the dealership, complaining of a squeaking clutch noise everytime I pushed it in, and was told that my clutch was wearing out. A new clutch was going to cost me about $375 for parts, with labour being about $600 (total about $1000 + tax). I was also told that I would need a new flywheel. An Infiniti flywheel would cost me $1600... WTF??!!

So in total, replacing my clutch/flywheel is going to cost me almost $3K. Can you say BS?! I know this vehicle is high cost/maintenance, but this is ridiculous. Mind you, I'm not about to sell it... love the ride too much...

I was looking for recommendations from you guys. I was looking for a clutch/flywheel that would give me better performance than the stock devices, and won't cost NEARLY as much. And I need it to be able to be shipped to Vancouver, Canada, with relatively decent shipping, or find something local in town.

Also, as a sidebar, do I REALLY need to get a new flywheel, or can it be machined/repaired, etc (I don't know if anything is wrong with it, and I'm not mechanically inclined to know any better)?

Please help!

Thanks in advance!

You may be able to get the stock fly machined if it is needed. I don't think they actually tell what the condition teh flywheels is in without removing the tranny and visually inspecting it.

If you go aftermarket, I have the JWT combo and really like! I have seen the combo going for as low as Mid $7's US. Labor to install should be about 4 Hrs labor max. At $100 US an hour (That's like dealership labor rate), it should be no more then $400. You should be able to do the entire setup for a lil over $1k installed! $1,200 Max!

Is there a performance/mods outlet in Canada that might sell this hardware?

Just replaced mine

I live in montreal Canada, my dealer said that the performance cluch/flywheel would be the same price as a stock and would take days to be shipped. So i paid 2500$ for the kit (stock)...it's crazy!!!

They also said that there was no such thing as a machined flywheel...i did'nt have time to look for used or else...because my car has been at the dealer for 3 weeks.

My g35 m6 was 91000km when my engine blew this is when they found out that my clutch should be replaced as well. Waranty paid for engine but not for the clutch. I'm very lucky as you can see

A mechanic i know said that i could change only the clutch (not the flywheel) but it could cause vibration when i shift so it would by hard to resale the car...

I hope you find cheaper than what i had to pay.

Good luck
