One of My Pet Peeves

Ok, so I don't mean to start another tidbit thread, but it pisses me off (and I need to vent) cuz it's one of my pet peeves to get cut off, WITHOUT being shown the courtesy of even signalling ... but today on my way home, I was trying to cruise to a red light (i.e. flicked it to Neutral to slow from "95 km/h" towards the red light) on Hwy 7 in the slow lane and I was coming to the white line with 2-car lengths left at around 30 km/h and ready to use my brakes to come to a complete stop, this 2005/6 MDX totally cut me off from the middle lane and stopped right in front of me. So I had to slam on my brakes. So came green, he took off and I followed and totally gained and pulled on him and gave him a glance when I passed by ... he was totally pissed cuz he was going flat out (in his nice business suit, I might add) ... damn, I was supposed to be breaking the car in! Anyway, he tried to follow and we were at a bend and I saw in my rear view mirror he was wandering all over between lanes while I felt like I was on rails around the bend .. then I passed a set of traffic lights and just cruised my way home .... I was thinking to myself ... hmmm ... people need to be respectful on the road and know what kinda car they're pissing off ... even if it's in serengeti sand and bone stock .... story of my day! Did I tell you guys it was fun in the rain this past week?

BTW, I was so upset I couldn't make the event this Saturday ... I really wanted to come and learn and meet all the great people, but I had to help my dad with some home renovations walking on the roof! Great pics BTW in the thread!

LOL, Stephen, I hear you on rude drivers.......they seem to be everywhere, and even when obviously in the wrong, they're not apologetic at all...
They must think the world revolves around them..
Consider it a plus that you didn't get hit......

No worries about missing Satureday's Meet and Shine.....catch us next time.
Actually there's a cruise coming up in Oct. NIAGARA CRUISE....if you can make it we'd love to meet you.

Colin.

Man o man can I relate!

Just this morning, coming back from getting my coffee, I'm following some guy in a pick-up truck. I can see that he is on the phone and is doing about 20 in a 40. This is pissing me off already, but I can't do anything because it's one lane. I wait it out until we both make a right onto a main street, and he turns in the far left lane, and I stick to the right. It's a 60 on this street and he is still doing 30....so I begin to pass him when the mother****ing peice of **** swirves right INTO ME! I had to slam on the brakes just to avoid him.

Best part, the **** doesn't even realize what he did, so when I give him a deadly look as I catch up to him, he's like "wtf is this guys problem"

^ I had a woman do something similar. Exiting off the 407 making a left turn onto pine valley. There are 2 left turn lanes... she was on the outside and me on the inside. She cut over into my lean nearly forcing me into the curb. Since we were a few cars back this was at 30 or so kph. I had to slam on my brakes, let her just barely miss me then go behind her.

The best part when I pulled up beside her on the left she had NO clue what just happened.

I maintained a constant speed cuz it was going into a sharp turn and he seems to look smaller and smaller in my rearview mirror as he was wandering all over betwee two lanes.

i bet you that guy cut you off so he can be first at the lights. I hate it when people do that...especially when they decide to accelerate SLOOOOOOOOWLY on the passing lane after they cut you off...

I have too much road rage :P

I agree ... but he wasn't first at the lights in MY lane! *LOL* I think I need the VQ35HR! hahaha

Speaking of engines, my X used 64 L of Octane 91 over 580 km = about 11 L/100 km on my second tank of gas. That's pretty good considering I only had around 500 km on the car. It also seems to be consistent with the gas consumption rating since I did about 9.6 L/100 km in my 2003 Maxima SE and the rating for the Max is 12.1/8.2 = about 10% more than the X (i.e. 11 L/100 km is about 10% more than 9.6 L/100 km).

with a slightly heavy foot, I get anywhere from 11.2-11.8L/100km. If i drive more hwy and conservatively, I can get my car running at around 10.5-10.8L/100km.

but that doesn't happen much hahaha

Why is always SUVs???

I had a guy zoom up and cut me while there was not enough space, i had to slam the brakes so he could make it in, i was hella mad and ready to take vengence but I noticed a baby chair in the back and little kids head.... so didn't want anything to happen to the kid but obviously the driver didn't care

I don't think all SUV drivers are bad people. Most are probably pretty normal. However, there's just something about an SUV that makes people totally disregard others on the road. Kind of similar to the guys who drive excessive speeds and force multi car passes in their raised pickups. True they have an excellent view of the road but I think it's a false sense of confidence and the feeling that they're not moving all that fast (being high above the ground) that does it.

110-120kph seems fast enough on most highways for me in the G. I would imagine in a car where you sit lower such as a Corvette it must seem crazy fast being so close to the ground.
