where in the world do they get their fuel economy data from? on a really good day i will average around 12/13 l/100. i'd love to see anyone achieve around 12.7 with city driving Fuel economy has improved slightly to 12.6/8.6 city/hwy from 12.7/8.7 city/ hwy (L/100 km).

I'm getting it consistantly. My tankfulls are almost never a blend, they're usually either 100% city or 100% highway.Originally Posted by giddyup69

My last three all-city commuting-in-traffic tankfulls averaged 23.2 mpg (12.2 l/100).
My last road trip (1,000 km) netted 32.9 mpg (8.6 l/100), but that was on smaller highways. I get about 2 mpg less on the 401.
And in case you're wondering, I make a point of not driving like a grandpa (even though I am one).

I have found the mileage to be pretty poor overall in mine (2003). This summer in the US I got 28-29 mpg and barely cracked 30 on one tank of all highway driving. In normal mixed driving I get 22-24 mpg here in Ottawa. I find 1st too short (auto) and 5th is too low for good economy, this engine should not need to rev this high on the highway.

We are getting off the 07 topic but I have kept records of our 05X since we got it. My driving would probably average out to 75% HWY to 25% City.
It ranges from 13L/100km (21.73 mpg) to of 9.5 L/100km (29.735mpg). These figures were over a period of 47,000 km. Really I don't think it is too bad for an AWD vehicle.

Too bad he didn't have much seat time in it.....
I'm sure a full road test won't be too far off.

Wow, That's an awesome writeup. Better handling, more ponies, stiffer body, better gas mileage, revised interior/exterior, wrapped in one fine lookin' ride....Originally Posted by canuck

26.981L and 203.8km's
that's 13.2l/100. i would hazzard a guess that it's 60/40 hwy/city. are u sure u didn't crimp your gas line a bit?? i don't think my extra 16 odd horses are that thirsty.

On my '03 Sedan I remember getting that kind of mileage -- 32-33 hwy, and about 22-23 city but I had to be very careful and drive like the grandpa I am.Originally Posted by usual_suspect

If I drove more spiritedly (read: with more fun), the mileage quickly went south.

I did find that my mileage improved gradually after break-in, and I think it's still improving (currently 18,000 km). I normally see 500 km or more around the city before the light even comes on. I leave my climate control on "Auto A/C" year-round, so it's not like I go out of my way to stretch every litre.Originally Posted by giddyup69

Browsing this forum (the whole board, not just the Canada section) I often feel like a freak. My gas mileage doesn't suck; my gas tank fills all the way; I'm not burning oil; I have no rattles or squeaks; my paint hasn't chipped; my brakes are fine; my stereo is OK; my seats aren't cracked; my VDC hasn't put me in the wall; my back tires didn't aren't bald and my dealer hasn't sodomized me yet.
I think I must be doing something wrong.

Like I said, I read about all these features and perks that I didn't get and *sniff, sniff* I feel sad.
Oh, yeah - they screwed me out of the clicking axles, too.
