it snowed this november and it stops usually april. thats 6 months. i bought the 2006 6mt which comes strictly summer rated tires.if i even tried to drive i think i would die within the hour. i have a another car so why bother spending 1900 dollars for 19" winter tires. and i prefer driving front wheel drive in the winter. so i find it more practical in my case to park my car.

Christian when your new X comes in, everytime it snows you won't be able to resist. You will be out playin in the snow. The x rocks in the white stuff .

I don't think you'd die. Summer tires equals no traction on snow or ice - you probably wouldn't move more than 2 inches past your driveway if there was ice and snow on the ground. Can't die if you can't move the car.

Re importz' comments - some people choose not to drive their sportier cars in the winter, regardless of whether their car is a Lambo or not. I drove my G sedan in the winter, but this winter I've decided not to drive my Z. Maybe a waste of money to some but I guess that's my choice, but I think I'll be just fine in my SUV (or my wife's pseudo-SUV).

Might not be practical, but if we were all practical we'd probably all be driving around in Smart cars as long as they got us around in the snow. To each their own.

Cheers.
Yes that's me. But she's been in the body shop for the last 2 days, major door ding. grrrr

In fact I almost bought a winter vehicle instead of rims and tires, but couldn't stand not driving my car especially when you only deal with snow maybe 3 weeks a year in Calgary.

Speaking of summers, I got caught in S'toon a month ago with my summers on. She rained and froze and then snowed, and i had to get back to CowTown. I had a Mustang in front of me for 50 miles fish tailing all over the place and the M stuck to the road no problems. Thank god it cleared up within 50 miles I was a little stressed.

Where is the Nissan meet held? If it's posted in this forum I'll try to make it out.

Well, it was nice knowing my nuts for 31 years...I've grown rather attached to them but it looks like I'll have to let them go. How can -20 be the high????
