Currently I get my fluids topped up and oil change done at my friend's garage, which is 50% cheaper then the dealership.
But I'm worried something might need to be watched out for along the way such as breaks, or other components?
I have a 2003 G35 and it's at 36,000 KM.

All you need do is stick to the schedule in the book if you're worried about missing something.
I scan the book and pick and choose what I think is needed and figure that's good enough.
I also don't forget to update my own maintenance book with dates, particulars, and receipts just in case......
You mention brakes.....besides pad/rotor condition, you might want to get the brake sliders and pad contact points lubed a couple times a year to ensure good movement. It's not a lengthly job to do, and not expensive to have done but it will pay off in dividends for good braking and longevity of pads and rotors, not to mention good brake performance, and gas mileage and such.
Other than lubing door/trunk locks, weather stripping, hinges, there isn't much else to do.
Tune ups are scheduled and at fairly high mileage, and include very little, and if there's an issue with the engine, a MIL will be generated.
So things are pretty basic these days.
Don't forget the tire pressures every week or so, detailing the paint/wheels and giving them a nice coat of wax b4 the snow flies and we're covered in salt.
Actually, Kevin just posted a winter prep list in our GTA in Detail thread which is real handy this time of year.

If anyone sees that I've missed something, jump in please. I'm sure there's gaps there somewhere....
