Instead they invented the Phillips as a poor imitation. I curse that crap-a$$ design almost as much as the flathead. I saw a show about Robertson once, interesting story actually.

This a relic of a post but someone else dug it up so... it was a Canadian who change the style of F1 cars they used to have a single radiator in the front and a crazy Canuck took small radiators and moved them off to the side for areodinamics who know if not for this F1 cars may still NASCARs.

I CURSE THE PHILLIPS! Love the Robertson! Actually though, I love the Torx head too.

I used to sell construction systems/solutions, and one of the huge product lines was anchors and fasteners. Man, the US guys couldn't understand why us Canadians has special SKU's for Robertson heads.
