I've done it for about 15-16 years now.

I wish I could afford to have another decent vehicle to drive in the winter while the G sits in the garage. That's why I bought the X in the first place, I'm not going to freeze my ***** off in a beater knowing I have a sweet ride at home with heated seats and dual zone climate control.

Calgary's got another 30 degree temperature drop coming in the next couple days

Yikes!!

I'm with 'ya. I've never driven a "winter beater" either.

Don't I know it. Seems as soon as either myself or the Mrs (or both) get back from Singapore, the temperatures take a nose dive the following day
Low and behold, the Mrs gets back in tomorrow afternoon and the temperatures are heading for the -20's on Thursday......Marvellous!

Oh, and that is one heck of a round about way to get your spoiler light fixed .
Shrewd observation Wayne. It is one heck of a way to get a spoiler light fixed. In fact, when I was talking to the body man who was showing me all the new parts he said, "Your spoiler was not factory OEM but aftermarket. We ordered OEM trunk and spoiler because you said it was OEM, so you're coming out ahead in this." I rolled my eyes and said exactly what you did in a very polite fashion. Afterall, he's got me by the bearings as he works on my G. I should be picking her up Thursday on the way to work.
