I drive alot of highway... like 90% of the time to work and back home...
but is averaging only around 350km per 50 litres of gas...

It seems that I just can't keep my car in the same rpm for a prolonged period of time.... I get sleepy too easily

Well for me (675 - 700KM per tank) I fill up once the gas light comes on, and it's generally between 65-67 Litres to fill it up depending on how far I am from a gas station when the light comes on.

Just filled up this morning on my way to work (689KM showing on the trip meter)....gas was $0.833/liter for regular (I alternate tanks of gas with regular and premium), and it cost me $55.00 to fill it up.

According to the fuel consumption calculator that I use, that means I got about 9.58L/100KM or about 29.48 Imperial MPG.

From what I have been told, the 6 speed Sedans like mine are much better on fuel than the automatics, especially with highway driving.

61L for 380km

which calculate out to be...6.25KM/L ?

Anyways, so I guess that's not much I can go? I gave paddal pretty average for the tank I got, around 30 to 40 % of gas peddal I am giving. (380km)

Usually I give 25 to 30 % which gives me around 420km for around 60L.

I never been to 500KM, the most is 480KM for around 60~63L (summer time).

Any ideas???

Is that all city???

I just filled up yesterday and got 460 km on 56 L. This is among my worst tank. My typical drives are:

3 km city to reach hwy
35 km hwy (115 km/h) to work;
35 km hwy (115 km/h) to get home;
3 km city to reach home

My office is just off the hwy so there's really no city driving there.

Can you break down the type of driving you're doing as I've listed above? I would expect with your numbers that it's all city/bumper to bumper driving.

Brought this thread back from the dead, just was looking at my old post because when I first got the G, I had sworn I was averaging 10 km/l (600 KM per tank) but I guess I was wrong, still averaging 500 km per tank, I thought the volks had killed my milleage but its exactly the same.....

Got curious because a friend recently got a auto-G37 and said he is getting 600 km per tank.

If its 100% highway driving then 10km/L (10L/100km) is easily attainable. I usually see any where between 8.8 to 9.5L/100km hwy with my 5spd auto...driving ~115kph.
It's the 13-14L/100km city that's the killer.

the 37's have 7 spd transmissions now do they not? that alone could make up the difference in mpg.

Yes.
G35 4th ~ G37 5th...G35 5th ~ G37 6th and 7th gear is basically O.D. so it will help on the highway. Will the 7spd make much difference in city driving.

hmm... from what I remember... my G would be getting around 460km full tank mixed driving..... 5AT.

Mostly city driving, I think its around 11-12L/100KM.... no way it can be 14L/100KM cuz that's what i'm averaging on my X650i. Unless of course you drive the G really hard... When I drive the X6 hard, i get about 18L/100KM

since we are on this topic, HOW MUCH does it cost on average for a FULL TANK on the G with the premium 91 gas price @ $1.17 CAD?

i pumped 75 litres on my X6 , came up to 90$.. got 468...
on the TSX, i pumped about 60 litres, came up to around 70$.. got 550
I don't drive the G as often so still haven't had a chance to pump a full tank in a while but it was around 70$ for a full tank from the last time i remember...

i'm now in the process of "hypermiling" as they call it... to see how much I can get out of my X6.... so far i'm average 13.5L/100KM .. ....after my gas is up, i will be repeating this test on my other cars to see how much I can get out of them.... its always good to know... so you can compare it to other results to have an idea of your driving habit

I usually fill at 60 litres, so yea about $70, I think the G tank is 70 litres, at 60 litres I get about 500 km sometimes a little over. This is with consistent granny shifting at 3500 and rarely using AC. lol this seems like some awful MPG, don't the new 335i and m3's get like 600km i've heard....

These threads make me sad..

Auto. Fairly mild driving. 90-95% City. Around 300km per 60 liters.

Seriously?

How the hell does it make sense to being pushing 3k rpm and I am barely reaching 120kph? Having said that I am pretty sure the nissan engineers (with a little "outside" influence) knew exactly what they were doing putting 5at in these cars.

*****

I have no problems with bad gas mileage, but I just can't stand filling the damn thing up after every second highway run.
