i was just curious, with a full tank of gas, how many km's does your G drive in the city and the hwy??

i just got my G and im starting to watch now...it looks like it can only do 450-500 km per tank in the city??

425-450 city, about 525 hwy...

It's been worse than these figures lately with the colder weather!

 

thats pretty normal if its 100% city

I get about 280 miles in 100% city and about 330 miles in 50/50.

 

My avg L/100km consumption jumped from 11.2L/100km to about 12.1L/100km in the winter months.

I do mostly city driving and I usually keep it under 3k RPM.

 

awesome...i guess this is my first 3.5L engine and im not used to the gas guzzling cars...haha...but its so worth it...haha...at least premium is still under $1 in calgary still...whats it at now??...0.90/L??

its not like my 2.0 tiburon and 2.3 bmw i had....those were the goold ol days...

 

Yeah, gotta pay to play ... it's about .79/L here in Kitchener, but I believe it's even cheaper in Toronto, about .70/L there.

 

Assuming I fill about 65 litres:

Pure city commuting, usually 500-525 km (12.8 l/100)

Pure highway trips, 750-775 km (8.7 l/100)

That's about 22/33 mpg (Imp.), 18/27 (US) for any Americans looking in.

 

Seems to me that I was in about the same range with my G's.......but one word of caution in the winter months:

In the winter time, the lower the level of gas in the tank, the more air space there is to collect moisture which freezes in the fuel lines ....

I make it a habit of keeping the fuel tank as full as possible and I never let the tank go below half unless I"m on a long distance trip...

Those are some good numbers. On the highway I will run 8.8-9.3 and mostly city 13 - 13.5.

In reviewing lots of fuel economy feedback the autos seem to do slightly better than the 6mts. It's not what one would expect although perhaps the slightly taller gearing comes into play.

 

To me, it's all about RPM's. Those highway numbers are for 10-15 kmh over the posted speed - I don't get that when I'm keeping pace on the 401 to TO.

In the city I find that I get the best mileage leaving it in "D" most of the time. If I use the manual mode a lot to avoid tapping the brakes all the time in close traffic, my mileage drops because my RPM's tend to be consistantly higher (much like they always were in my manual vehicles).

My highway numbers are for 115-120km/h normally where I cruise at. At lower speeds I might squeak a bit more out but any faster would definitely pay some big penalties in more than one way.

I'm an MT driver that keeps the rpms very low at all speeds other than a few bursts here and there. While accelerating I'll usually shift around 2200-2500 and cruise around at about 1400 or so in 5th or 6th gear. Even with that kind of Grannny style/ feather footing I can't seem to match the AT's economy in the city.

Yap I just got my G in the summer and was surprised by the guzzling as well, only get about 500 KM/ tank and i'm granny driving it switching at 3000 rpm, every so often blasting it to change lanes.......

it's totally fun and still sorta young, 25, so i'll get a hybrid accord or a camry in the future
