Window of Opportunity to go Cruisin'
Window of Opportunity to go Cruisin'
Those of you who live in Calgary know that our weather is unpredictable. This winter has seen so little snow, well, except for in my cul-de-sac. Maybe because of its elevation and because it's sheltered from a lot of the warm chinook winds, but usually my little street is covered in ice well after all of the other roads have thawed out.
Well this weekend was a little different and 95% of the ice was gone. So I capitalized on this small window and took the Z out yesterday for a good cruise and managed to get in a shorter cruise today. Up until today, I hadn't driven the Z since October. Sure felt good to get back behind the wheel and run it through its gears. I live in NW corner of the city, near the city limits, so it was easy access to the highway and some backroads.
Here's a shot I took on my Nikon D70s - I fine tuned the colour of the sky with the help of Photoshop and Picasa.
Can't wait for summer so I can open it up on a regular basis!

It's been a fun day for you Joel. Beautiful looking shot that showcases the car and your camera/PS skills.
Hopefully we'll have a warm up sometime in the next 2-3 weeks and I can get the cobwebs off the G.

Thanks guys. I had to go the office yesterday to work for a few hours, and again today at a client's premises and the office for a few more hours, so in my books, the cruising was a just reward. Cheers.

Here's another pic I took during my weekend cruising. I have a couple routes that I do around Bearspaw (just outside the Calgary city limits and a few minutes away from my suburb) and the views of the Rockies are simply breathtaking...

BMC, haha i did the same thing....i couldnt resist. im in the NW too so i took the G out went to Cochrane for some ice cream with the girl.... came back and reluctantly put the G back in the garage. i went out to Sunshine yesterday and saw 2 G coupes in the parking lot...sometimes i really wish i got winter rims and tires... anyway, cant wait for a nice march so we can get back on the roads. definatly think we should have a Calgary G/Z meet...ive seen some BMW's gather by the Esso and church on country hills... it would be nice to meet the peeps on this board

That second pic looks like wallpaper material to me.
