Of course that kind of thread always brings the winners out of the woodwork.
Colin is right, though; threads like that are becoming way too common. I know the mods here are probably strapped as it is but has their been any thought to perhaps having one "Car Chat" style section with a couple dedicated moderators? (combine other cars and other cars comparison?). That's how it goes at a number of other sites and it seems to work. It's a forum subsection that of course can breed fights, so I'd say it bears watching.

At the moment were've got several other 'hotbeds' that aren't getting the needed attention.....
I'll put the idea forward for everyone to consider, but as you all can imagine, these things take forever to get any kind of results (even responses) , so I wouldn't expect any kind of changes very quickly.
So much is left to indivudual members such as knowing the rules and acting accordingly like mature, caring members, but there are so many kids getting in on the act now making things much more difficult to control.
I've talked to Shane about this recently, and I'm that close to just unilaterally 'busting wigs' and being done with it----no explanation, no pms, no arguing, no excuses, no warnings, -- just expulsion.....
The time for '*****-footing' is done with this many members....
I'll try to get hold of Kyle about having a separate Car Chat Forum, for his view and remind him of Shane's offer to moderate such a forum.

Colin, can we have a Moderator(s) in the existing "Other Cars" and "Other Cars Comparison" sections? That wouldn't be hard to setup and would help tremendously IMO.
Ya, when I said Cat Chat I meant combining the two forums (other cars and other cars comparo) into that, not a third separate car chat forum. That way you could have one or two mods just monitor that forum particularly.

I understand.....leave it with me guys.........
The next few days are going to be hectic at home for me...... Hamilton General called today to get Mom in to get an MRI done to evaluate her back which needs attention.....soon.
As some of you may know, Hamilton's MRI covers a huge area and cancellations are hard to come by so it looks like tomorrow I'll be taking her down there.
I thought we were headed there today but it turned out that someone forgot to ask Mom about her metal stents that could pose a problem with the Imaging.......
So after all that checking and fuss, it's now tomorrow.....or she stays on the waiting list and has to wait possibly until March 17 for her originally scheduled visit..... (her back is so painful, it needs attention now, not months from now)....
If I'm not here much.....then you'll know why.....

Shane.....for now I've added your name to Moderate Other Cars and Other Cars Comp. in Off Topic Forum.
Let me know if your accesses are working properly...
I know we should have more than one in there but I should bring it up with the other mods and admins and Kyle first....
TNX for helping out.....I'm trying to get one or 2 others involved too.

The Canadian Forums do seem to be a lot friendlier. I've even noticed the difference in tone on the other Canadian G35 Board that I frequent.
Glad your foot is feeling better Colin. I just went in for surgery on my left knee yesterday (had the right knee done in November). Hopefully, I'll notice some improvements as well, and can get back to a few more activities that I've dropped over the past 2 years. Damn, it's tough being an old fart!

I don't know what the answer is for this attitude shift on the forums......I'm usually quite patient, but lately it's wearing thin and I'm tending to think the heavy hand is the way to go --- no more pu$$y footin' around.
Yes our Canadian forum is a treat....to my knowledge, we've never had a problem -- I wish it would rub off onto other, less friendly forums.
It sure doesn't take much to start an argument these days, and b4 long all hell breaks loose.
Cheers, and g/l with your recovery.
Colin.
