Glad your foot is feeling better Colin. I just went in for surgery on my left knee yesterday (had the right knee done in November). Hopefully, I'll notice some improvements as well, and can get back to a few more activities that I've dropped over the past 2 years. Damn, it's tough being an old fart!
Gord, good luck with the recovery and the return to some old pastimes.

Yes, arthroscopic surgery both times. 3 small incisions, little bleeding, and up and about quickly. Only took a week off last time, and taking a week off this time as well.

Issues started when I tore the lateral and medial meniscus in my right knee in May '05, lightly hitting a badminton bird around with my daughter in the back yard (I was previously a fairly competitive player), and with a loud 'snap-pop', I was out of commission and have been using a cane since.

I subsequently discovered I have palindromic arthritis, and this may have weakened the joints. Waiting for an MRI, seeing an orthopedist, etc., finally booked for surgery in summer of 2006, but I didn't want it to affect my holiday in San Francisco, so postponed to the fall.

Last day, going through the BART station leaving SF, rushed forward to help Jennifer with a suitcase through the turnsile, and 'snap', my medial meniscus of my left knee goes!

Surgery for the right knee booked for November, option to do both (and be incapacitated for up to a month), said "no thanks, let's do one at a time", MRI for the left knee booked for December, resulting in the surgery on Friday.

Anyway, that's the basic story, so I'm looking forward to getting back to some activities again, before something else breaks down.

Only positive thing out of this is that I get to use the wider handicap parking spaces, so it's safer for my G.

Sorry for hijacking your thread Colin.

Hi bro, I have to admit that I've considered "kicking the wall" occasionally, but no, I"ve not actually done that since my wild teenage years. (long ago )

LOL, no I'd never kick the dogs.....They'd just bannish me to the fridgid dog house if I tried anything like that..---- and right now the dog house is sitting in about 0 degree temps. Damn it's cold out there, and I wouldn't last 5 minutes out there.

Actually it's quite the contrary: Dayne and Sid help me keep my sanity and often cuddle up to me and 'talk'.....They're so precious -- I don't know what I'd do without them...

Dennis, you're welcome here any time you wish......You don't have to ask, my friend.....As a matter of fact, I wish you'd visit more often, we've got some catching up to do....

......and tnx, my foot is better, tho I'm still hobbling like Chester...

Colin.
