Stayed at the girlfriends place in Hamilton last night... very interesting drive in this morning too! Apparently we got in worse there then everywhere else, the lake effect snow was a direct hit! There was about 2.5 feet, wheel wells were completely covered, but the G held its own... i've learned that keeping momentum in the slippy stuff is key! (thats what i'll tell the office anyways after he watches me blow through stopsigns carelessly!) Drive safe everyone and enjoy the empty parking lots with the VDC turned off!

It just started snowing here about 30 minutes ago. I had to go into the office this morning for a couple of hours, but I am home now and will be working from home for the rest of the week.

We are supposed to get snow, ice pellets, freezing rain, rain, then snow. All in all, we are supposed to get 25-35 cms.

Sounds like you're in for a little of everything, Shane. Home is a good place to stay.

Let's all hope it passes quickly.

No problem getting to work and a little fishtailing but overall it was a good drive to work. Snows worked wonderfully. Mind you I live 5 min away from work.

I was asked to take some pics of the car in the snow by a local dealership, so I went out today. Was fun until I got stuck, but a pretty lady in an Audi helped me out so it was worth it.

300hp RWD snow plow!

Damn, what a night!! The high winds were incredible. I have no idea what the wind speeds were, but I thought I was in the middle of a hurricane. The power went off on several occasions.

We got about 15 cms of snow overnight and it is still snowing. We also got freezing rain and then heavy rain during the night so the snow weighs a freakin' ton with a couple inch base of slush underneath.

Yuk, Shane, I don't envy you digging out from that mess...
You got hit worse than we did, and winds make the whole affair much worse.

Good thing you can work from home today....
Take care, and don't overdo it.

C.

Whoa Shane, it seems like you got walloped. We had some very high winds too but not much in the way of snow. Fortunately our temps turned it into rain and we actually have less snow now than we did.
Here are a few pics from my front door, my neighbours siding that came off and a tree at the edge of my back yard.

That's good Deane that you got off lucky with the snow. I wish it would of stayed all snow or all rain........I hate the mix. It looks like you guys had some high winds as well. I heard this morning that Cape Breton got 130 kph winds last night. I have no idea what ours were but man did it blow hard. I took a walk around the house this morning and other than some broken branches from trees, we received no damage.

It's still windy here today and is still snowing hard.
