bussing it for a week
bussing it for a week
I was driving home from work late, roads poorly lit and water accumulating from the snow melt. All of a sudden, hear a heavy clunk and within seconds, I knew I blew a tire. After closer insepction, noticed that the rim was bent as well. Went back to the same location the next day and took pictures of the pot hole that decided to wander in front of me.
I now have to wait over a week for delivery of a new rim and tire (dunlop wintersport m3) from tiretrends. Can't find the rim or tire here in Edmonton. I think I am going to pursue this one and try to convince the city to pay for the damage. Anyone else ever try to get compensation from the city due to their negligence with road conditions?? Here is the evidence....

Hmm.....not one reply to the original message. Guess I'll do one. Just to let others know....I wrote the city of Edmonton concerning the pot hole damage and, believe it or not, they reimberssed me the value of the tire and rim. They stated that I had a case since the pot hole was in the middle of a major road and they had previously received a complaint on it. By the way, I ordered two tires and rims so that I would have a spare in case something like this happens again. The city was all set to pay me the total cost for the pair, as they were confused and thought both front and back were damaged. Honesty took over and I had to set them straight that they only had to pay for one rim/tire......call me crazy
Yes my brother basically put a claim to the city. In his case it was a constuction company that failed to put signs on the road. All in all it took about 6 months to win the claim and another 4 - 6 months for the company to pay up. Something like that I forgot.
damn you canadians.. the city treats you well.. i would highly doubt the city would reimburse us for that here in the states.. i should move to canada.. if it wasnt so cold tho
