Good place to install rims/tires?? Wheels-direct = bad press

So lately on various forums, I've seen wheels direct get blasted and I agree the service is sub-par.

Today I was taking off my winter tires and they provided the lugs for it, the key got completely all warped what a p!ss off!!! I didn't make it in time b4 they closed to see if they could give me another key which i'm sure they'll charge me for unless i make a scene which i don't really like doing.

so anyhow I have some 19" rims and tires comming in, anyone know a decent place that i can install them and have them torqued properly and so on?

Its a bit of travel but you might want to try www.tires23.com . They are located in Mississagua.

Steelcase Tires N Mags have treated me well in the past with both good service and things done properly. I would try to get there first thing in the morning or avoid their busy times.

Cool thanks, anyone know a solution to missing lug nut key? There were a few solutions I found online like hammering in a smaller socket onto the lug nut but I tried some stores for a emergency lug nut remover but no one had it.

+1

For steelcase, Dave the owner is a good guy he gives better prices then the other people that work there. Steve (one of the installers) is a great guy as well, he is very careful when installing rims.

How important is it to have the lugs torqued correctly? I was always under the impression that a ratchet and elbow greese was sufficient.

Very, very important, everyone has different amounts of elbow grease. If not tight enough lug nuts can work loose, if it is too tight you can distort your rotors or worse yet have wheel studs that are at the breaking point.
