If they say compression rod, try lubing your bushings with silicone lubricant.

I had my compression rods replaced before, but the problems just came back a year after.

Good luck

It's the bar/rod that locates the front axel lateraly back to the chassis.
It's primary load is compression force, hence the name.

I think I have a similar issue on my 03 coupe with 95k. Sounds like my rims are going to fall off, espcially on smaller bumps going under 40 km/hr.

I'm going to bring it to a dealer here in Ottawa. Or can someone recommend a service shop.

Why are they splitting the cost, covered under warranty?

Paid 1/3 of $600. Guelph Infiniti and Infiniti paid the balance. Once the rod was replaced, no more klump.
Car had 110 000Km and was out of warrantee but I argued.
Guelph did all the work.

Most places have quoted me about the same $600 Agincourt, Yorkville and Markham. Just for one side.

However we can get the parts pretty cheap from Riverside Infiniti shipped from Cali, $150 per, $175 per side labour rate at Simone Performance, total $325. Much cheaper then doing it at the dealer but going to try to call head office and see what they can do as this is a known problem.

whatacar, What did you say to get the price reduced. How can you argue that since its out of warranty?

I had Guelph Infiniti do a comprehensive check at 98 000 km. I told the service advisor that there should have been some indication that the compression rod was on it's way out. This should have been noted as I had been hearing the noise for some time. It must have been on it's way out when they looked at it. I was very calm ( uncharacteristic for me ) and polite. I believe it was Judy or Heather who I spoke with. She decided to call Infiniti and came back with the three way split.
What can I say, should've bought a lottery ticket that day.

Anyone know the implications of not fixing this? Aside from the annoying sound, will there be suspension erroding or something?
