I got my car at Guelph Infiniti (where the OP resolved his problem) and I have to say that they have been the most professional dealers and service staff I have dealt with in a very long time. When I bought my car I told the salesman that I drove the 328i. All he said to that was, "it's a real nice car to, you have a tough choice to make but I hope you choose this car for the money". I have asked alot of questions to the service/parts manager over the last 6 months with regards to upgrades and mods found on this site and he is always more than willing to try to assist me.
Good guys over a Guelph.

I have also had good experiences there.

Who did you purchase from? I bought my first one from Kim, and my last one from Derek. They have both left the dealership.

I purchased from Raj Ahuja. Real nice guy. I believe he is actually their fleet manager as well.
PS
Who did your tint and bra. Was it done locally? and do you know any good paint detailers in KW or Guelph area?

I worked a deal with Guelph Infiniti, that it would be clear bra'd on site and they had it tinted before I picked it up.
Here is the address of the fellow that did my clear bra. Highly reccomended.

Update: so Yorkville Infiniti, said $300 for left side compression rod and $160 labour, luckily we have Riverside Cali that is willing to ship to canada for $150 for the compression rod, so i'm going to bring them the part, the labor charge is pretty good.

hope not going for extended warranty turns out to be a good choice....

good job!

You'll most likely be ahead without the $$$$ extended warranty.

Just got a quote from 417 Infiniti here in Ottawa for compresson rods. The left is shot, and the right is on its way.

$550/side, $340 for the rod and 2hrs max for labour. Would total to $1100 if they do both sides....

Other option is to get the parts from Riverside Cali it seems and get the dealer to install.
Anywhere else in Ottawa that anyone can suggest to do the install?
Thanks!

I found different dealerships charge different prices for labor, one place said 160, another 200, another 250....... so check around with the dealerships, i would recommend a specific infiniti dealership as the compression rod thing is a specific g35 problem.

Wow, this is the same issue that Nissan had with their '03 Z's -- and on some Infiniti Coupes (including my own back in '05).

Nissan should step up and fix these under warranty but have yet to admit any responsibility......

Phone Nissan/Infiniti and complain bitterly about this.

Colin.

Is there any other way you can find out if your Comp rod is shot that is not by sound or clanking noise? Is there a visual inspection that will let you know or anything else?
