2008 Nissan GT-R variants.

Nissan has the Porsche 911 Turbo, GT2 and GT3 clear in their sights. There will be three variants of the 2008 GT-R which are as follows:
 Standard Nissan GT-R with 480 bhp priced around $57,000 USD.
 Nissan GT-R V SPEC unknown bhp priced around $67,000 USD.
 Nissan GT-R EVO SPEC with 530 bhp priced around $94,000 USD.
Take a look at this link which contains spy photos from a Japanese tuner magazine. The wing will be different but the body panels appear to be finalized. http://www.egmcartech.com/2007/05/10...odels-surface/ The price of the VSPEC and EVO models may seem high, but the cost of purchasing a low mileage R34 GT-R VSPEC II in California is over $80,000 USD.I am quite keen to see what the Canadian pricing will be for all of the variants, the speculated starting price is $70,000 CDN.

IMHO, those prices are unlikely and I don't really trust any source but Nissan, at least until very close to release time. I doubt the vehicle will be available as low priced as $57 US and have a spread of $37k between models. As to Canadian pricing my guess is $90-100K starting price in Canada.

JMO, but the chances of the CDN market getting 3 variants is pretty slim.

That's almost guaranteed. I was told by my dealer $100K+ CDN but he was just speculating.

I still don't think it will be that expensive. Nissan has always had trouble selling expensive cars in north america. Sort of like how VW tried to sell the Phaeton. IMHO the gtr won't be more expensive then the e92 M3 just like how the G will never be more expensive then the top of the line 3 series. Just my .02

I think this pricing makes sense. Think about the direct competition in the US...
Chevrolet Corvette $44,250*
Nissan GT-R $57,000**
Nissan GT-R V Spec $67,000**

911 Carrera $72,400*

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 $69,175*
Nissan GT-R EVO SPEC $94,000**
911 Turbo $122,900*

* 2007 MSRP, source: Edmunds.com
** estimated
Considering the 350Z starts at $27,900 I don't think the GT-R will end up starting at more than double that.

Considering Nissan has been actively tuning the GT-R using the Porsche 911 Turbo as its benchmark, I can't help but wonder...

(a) how you can claim this is "wrong" and
(b) why you insist on using AOL-kiddie phrases like "LOLZ".

Yeah, and how fast is the evo and how fast is the sti and even the new Z06? Consider the pricing there and you could have thought before they all came out they would be more expensive. Just because a car is freaking fast doesn't mean that it will be priced insanely high. Also this is a very old magazine article (at least 2 months old) from a company that actively photochops their pictures and bases "rumors" as fact in their print. Also this is a NISSAN, nobody will pay 160k for a NISSAN. They are even pushing it to put this car in the low 70's price range, but they'll probably have no problems because the the GT-R's heratige. This is a forum. If you can't deal with "AOL kiddie speak" then you can't deal hardly anything that you read here. LOLZ!!!!!

Good research. That makes some sense.
