Sale on Hydraulic Jack & Air Compressor Kit at Canadian Tire - $35

Finally swapped my summers to winters by myself!! I picked up a 20-150 ft/lb torque wrench on ebay earlier and then this deal at Cdn Tire sealed it.

The Hydraulic Jack & Air Compressor Kit comes with a:
- 2½-ton heavy-duty hydraulic floor jack with carry handle and swivel casters
- 250-psi mini air compressor with pressure gauge
- Foldable wheel chocks
- Lug wrench adapter with sizes: 11/16, 3/4, 13/16 and 7/8"

Click this link. If the link doesn't work just search for this Product #09-1051-4 on www.canadiantire.ca

Ok, now before people jump on my head, this is by no means a top-of-the-line model, but I mean for something you may or may not use twice a year, for $35?? Now don't get me wrong I'm just as thrilled as the next guy to pick up a Michelin low-profile racing, aircraft aluminum, professional grade jack, that lifts the car in 2 pumps, but I'm no shadetree mechanic, and this does great.

Not that I needed an air compressor (its tiny, but this way, I don't have to run to a gas station everytime!) when can't you use one of those?

The other great added bonus, is a little attachment that goes with the jack handle which is a 1/2 45 degree adpater that is about 6 inches longer than my huge torque wrench - just offers even more leverage on those tough ones.

If you've been looking for a jack, this might be the deal you're looking for! I have no clue how long the sale will last for.

Al

That's a killer deal, Al.....Perfect for most of us back-yard mechanics.
In the catalogue pic I couldn't see the lug wrench adapter.

CTC's sales usually go from Saturday to Saturday.......so if you're in the market folks, now's the time to go.

Great find, Al.....tnx.

Yeah, they only show the jack and the chocks, but I assure its an 8-pc set. There are 3 lug adapters and this L-bend adapter - with one end for the jack's handle and a perfect 1/2" end for my longer 21mm drive. really handy

I'm really getting sick of these damn lock keys - I almost forgot it in the last wheel - I'd sure hate to lose that.. I'm seriously debating taking them off. I mean, if I had $4K Volks, THEN maybe, but in the meantime, who'd want my OEM 18s with curb rash? LOL Better that, than being stuck with rims on OR the cost of having them welded off or whatever.

Good point on the rims. Aftermarket rims are so popular these days, it's not worth worrying about OEM's any more. They're not really a target for thieves.

That is an awesome deal. I wonder if I can find something like that in the states.

Don't forget to play it safe and invest in a pair of jackstands.

Good point.
I'm surprised that stands aren't part of that package.

Thanks for the advice - I'm really only using it for winter/summer swaps and I'm not planning on ever getting underneath the car. Then, I'll probably get stands.

Have you all seen the threads with OEM jacks (incl. in the trunk) bending? HERE The photos are pretty scary. They weren't even on uneven surfaces or anything - in their garages safe and sound. So what if you needed to do it in an emergency on the roadside? Gravel shoulder? Yikes... that's why I decided to pick up a jack.

LOL, yes our OEM jacks are not much -- they're cheap and weak and I wouldn't use one except in an emergency. (roadside) -- and even then very carefully and not to jack the car up very high...... As you saw in your link, they don't like going very high and will bend over very easily.

I personally use stands just to be safe..... you should too bro...
You can still hurt yourself and do some serious damage to your ride if it were to fall off any jack....even tho you don't go underneath.

With a hydraulic jack that can be used for many purposes, you'll end up jacking the ride and going underneath and taking a chance without stands.
You really don't want to do that..... Get the stands with the jack.

Actually in CTC's weekly flyer that arrived last evening and effective from today until next Friday, there is a selection of different jacks and stands as a set -- all on sale and good deals.

Do yourself a favour and get the stands. You'll be glad you did....
