I do not have my G yet, but was wondering when to make the switch to synthetic oil. Should I do a couple of 'regular' oil changes first? How many Km's before synthetic should be used?

Ask 10 people and you will get 10 answers. Perhaps the most common answer is let the engine break in and then switch over. Perhaps 3K+ kms or first oil change. I switched about 3K kms.

I phoned today about the tees and apparantly since the oil has been on sale since the beginning of the month, the tees are all gone now. ("only 2 boxes")
So I'm SOL on the shirts but the deal on the oil is still awesome.....

Again, that depends. Most people accept that synthetic will safely run 11-13k kms however most don't. You're easily safe at 8k kms. I change mine @ 5k but that's likely overkill.

Thanks for the heads up RBN. I picked three up and got the same story as Colin, SOL shirtwise. I know this is a great deal, however since I've never changed my own oil it may be a bit of an impulse purchase, ya think.
Seriously though, my local garage said that they would charge me $20 to change the oil if I supplied the parts.
