Had something similar here last week.

A deer in our pool!

I got up one morning to find the solar blanket all screwed up.
When I straightened it up, there was a hole in the middle ....WTF?

I checked the skimmer & found it full of deer hair

Poor bugger must have jumped onto the solar blanket thinking it was solid.
It was really lucky that it wasn't drowned!!

Wow, I'm surprised it didn't either. Must have worked hard to get up out of the pool.
