Wayne, my Dad has been a truck driver for over 40 years and hauls fuel 90% of the time. He's always told me not to fill up at a service station while a tanker is unloading gas. The fuel being pumped from the trailer into the tanks underground has the potential to stir up any dirt that may be at the bottom of the tank. Anyways, just figured I would pass that along.

Thanks Shane I was aware of that, I also follow that same rule when filling up my boat at the Marina.
I had completed filling my truck before he started unloading the fuel, he had to wait for me since my truck was in the way.

Thanks for the information Ian! I've always used Sunoco and Shell. I've noticed that I get better mileage from Shell.

I've actually noticed more power from my engine with Shell's 91 than Sunoco's 91. But I'm currently using 94 which feels the same to me as Shell's 91. Could be my imagination though.

But good info!

Should prove very interesting.....

I vote for Shell 91 on the trip to K.

That might be difficult since there's already p/can in the tank now, but no worries, Sam, you'll be with me on the second trip too (to Shannonville)
That one will be at a higher speed too, so I'd like to see if the M (with Shell) can knock off the same mileage as the slower trip to K.....
Not duplicate test runs but a comparo none the less.

Sam, I don't think it will be problem getting there. If I know C he already has the destination logged into the M's GPS .

I almost always fill at Safeway Why? 7 cents off a litre, but I have no idea where their fuel comes from. The G seems content enough with it, though.

Most 2nd tier gas stops are served by one of the big boys anyway....
& I'm sure AB doesn't have an ethanol issue.

At least you have competition. In Nova Scotia there is no such thing. Every station is glued to the same price as the other.

I have no idea, really, what our ethanol content is out here, but now you have me curious. I know at Husky/Mohawk they market 'ethanol-blended gasolines'. We only have one commercial ethanol production plant.

Actually it's much the same here. Everyone offers 3.5 cents off at the pump (not sure why they bother), however we get an extra 3.5 off for buying 25 bucks worth of groceries at Safeway. The prices among stations generally stick pretty close together. But ya know, guys, it has been studied numerous times and there's no collusion!
