Can this be for real?

If only 15 year old Skylines are allowed to be imported, how can this 1999 R34 be sitting on ebay available from Toronto? Is it a fake? Did he ship it in privately somehow (but that would cost way more no?) Can't believe of all places, its sitting somewhere in the same city as me!! *sigh*

Actually there are some R34 and Evo's running around with Canadian plates. I know how they did it, but it's very risky...

Not to mention, costs a ****load of money too.

That's EXACTLY what I figured. The fact that there were no plates on it (in the pics), indicated to me that something was amiss. I did send the seller an ebay email immediately asking him for more pics and if I could come see it. But since they suspended his account, I doubt (even if he got the initial contact) he could respond to me. I'm trying to scour my temp folders to see if I can find the pics from the ebay posting to upload on this thread.

Thanks for the insight all,
Al

anything newer then 15 years can only be brought in if you are a diplomat or have just recently moved here from another country (for school usually), or for race/display purposes (which can never be registered for the street)

in the case of the foreign citizen who brings their car over with them they can never sell them to someone else or they will be destroyed.

any cars brought in newer then 15 years old that don't fit the above criteria are liable to be taken away by transport canada and destroyed (it does happen).

a handful of EVO 8's made it into canada from the US before transport canada decided to not allow them, and thus they are still legal, but pretty much anything else you see, especially on ebay, is either illegal or a fake posting

www.riv.ca has more info

I remember that! They were actually legal for a month and some people bought them before transport Canada jumped in. But my question is... can they be resold as second hand since they are already street legal?

as far as i know, there should not be a problem reselling the evo's as they have been legally registered.

finding one is the hard part
