Issues with your G
I get a lot of comments on my mileage! My driving is mostly in the city, so the km don't add up too quickly. I also have a 92 Maxima with only 130,000 km - still in great shape! I don't think they build cars like that any more. The qualilty was amazing.
About the creaking I thought it might be the compression rods from what I've read on this site, and I mentioned it to the dealer but they claimed not to have found any problems. So, no, they didn't try lubing the sway bar bushings, or doing anything else for that matter. This was Infiniti of Yorkville, which doesn't inspire confidence. If the creaking gets worse maybe I'll take it to Oakville for a second opinion. At the same visit, Yorkville told me that replacing the brake pads etc. was a wear and tear item and therefore I'm responsible for the cost, but they were going to be nice and not charge me!! I mentioned that they weren't charging me because the brakes were still under warranty and the service guy said "oh you know about that?" I'm female so maybe he thought I don't know anything about cars.
Speaking of Infiniti of Yorkville, I got a card in the mail saying that they were going to open their new "state of the art" dealership (on Eastern Avenue, near the Distillery District) this winter. Hopefully their service will improve. At the very least, they won't be parking all the cars brought in for service in the unpaved gravel and dirt construction lot!

Eh guys, I have a few problems with mine... 2003 G35 coupe 6mt M6
- Driver side door window motor done, warranty last summer..
- Passenger side door window is acting up, no more warranty...bbbooo...hahaha
- Radio likes to kick out and then kick back in hard with a nice pop.. Again, no more warranty...
- throw bearing has been chewed almost since I bought it over 2 years ago
My poor baby was abused before I got her, she has even been repainted in one spot on the back quarter and recleared... Took some time for that to show... At least there is no bondo etc... That’s what happens when you know cars but are buying for yourself, you are blinded and only see what you want... hahahahaha
Other then that, I love my G...

Hi there
For the sheer reason of being lazy and not wanting to go to my car to get the manual. I am at about 96,000 kms now and can anyone tell me if there is a timing belt to be replaced sometime in the near future. I would do a big search but it is overwhelming sometimes.
I thought I would ask my friends instead (that is what we are here for right! lol)
Thanks in advance
Matt

The sunroof just needs silicone lubricant on the rubber gasket every year or so. I like the stuff that the GM stores sell.

[QUOTE=G35-4Life]Hi, Can you elaborate on this problem? I get one click/knock sound when I punch the throttle while starting at low RPM or cruising speeds.
Not the problem I was having. I had a very slight continuous pulsing or knocking noticeable at idle. When the hood was opened it was more evident and you could feel it when touching the fuel damper. In no way does it sound like what you are experiencing.

Seems like we all have similar problems. Mine are:
* rear axle click - TSB corrected
* wind nosie on rear passenger window - replaced molding
* engine ping (knock) - no fix yet (3 visits) but dealer replaced fuel damper, problem still persist, even with the cooler weather
* clicking clutch pedal - haven't got dealer to look at it yet
* driventrain howl coming from rear passenger side after car sits ovenight and when the outside temp is cool. It would go away after driving for a few minuutes.
For the pinging, they suggest the dealer would monitor the car for a period of time to check for oil consumption. They will then consult with Nissan for possible engine replacement.
All I want is a fix for the pinging! It is ridiculous to have to drive a vehicle that pings on every upshift gear change.
