Climate Control display?
Hey,
So it is the first time my car has probably ever experiences temperatures lower than + 20C, and for the past week the climate control display is getting me quite angry.
It is usually around 29F outside according to my car if that accounts for much. I usually start up my car, drive after 30 seconds, keep revs below 2k until engine temp rises. During this period I have my fans on high (90F blowing at max speed). I would not like to do this, but the damn BMW has a higher place in my household than the G, so it has to sit outside and be exposed to all that cold temps... Not to add the windows fogg up if the heat is not on and, well this is a Regional forum, no need to explain more about the heat
. During the drive I listen to my music at modest levels, Volumes at 10.
After 20 minutes of driving and the heat set to lower level (80F and fan speed to minimum), my climate control display and compass along with the outside temperature start flipping out. They start flickering like crazy, showing a bunch of different words and images, rotating between C/F, Auto/Manual, this is only the display, there is actually no changes in the car. This usually occurs after a long period of driving and I am at lost to think what it is and I honestly am hoping it is not the circuit board that needs replacement. It might also be the battery but anyone have similar issues or know what the cause is here? I really don't want to find out on a day when it hits -50C outside and I have no heat in my car, haha.

^+1 on the stealer. Not sure if he's within warranty now or not.
I can't see putting the fan on high in the winter after only 30 seconds. You're pushing very cold air through the cabin.

I am out of warranty... Most of the time I turn the fan speed down after my windows defrost.

I only meant keeping the fan on a lower speed for a few minutes until some heat is generated. Otherwise the air you're blowing at yourself and the windows is the same temp as outside.

Thanks for the responses, sadly the KB doesn't describe an issue like mine.
Thanks Rbull, it sure does suck blowing cold air at your face, thought I had to do that to make sure windows defrost, haha.
Looks like I will ask them to see if they know of anything like that when I go get my car serviced next week. I expect them to say no, followed by some plot to take my money....
