Be Careful Out There!

I just experienced my first drive in a snow storm. Toronto and GTA is packed with the fresh stuff, very slippery. THE G RULES . I saw three cars spin out, which one of them almost hit a light pole hard. It was a crazy storm, I could barely see. I'm very, very thankful for the G35x and for my parents getting me it...had wonderful control in the snow.

Glad to hear you made out good with your X Hullio. I heard on our local radio station last night that we are expected to have our first snow storm on Monday/Tuesday and it has the possibility to dump 30-50 cms of snow. We'll see though since they are known to be wrong once in awhile.

Drive safely everyone.

It's not too bad here there is only around 6-8"" on the roads first thing this morning when I took my wife to work. It is deeper where drifting has occurred.
Sadly it is supposed to get milder and turn to rain later. It will be a mess, I would much rather it just stay cold out instead of these freeze and thaw cycles.
Why can't the snow just stay

Oh, I forgot to mention , Our Newspaper is delivered around 6-6:30 AM and around 6:30 the doorbell rang. It was the fellow who delivers our paper, he was bottomed out coming through a drift in our driveway and I had to push him out. LOL , darn domestic little Ford crap. I got a chuckle out of that, and the year is early.

+1 on that. Freeze thaw for us also. Got a good dump overnight. Even the dog who usually ranges 10 -15 m in front was two steps behind me so I could blaze a trail for him. Luckily I bought a snowblower in Aug., My back hurt just looking at the stuff.
Be careful if you head out.

The snow is supposed to start later this morning and we are supposed to get 30cms between today and tonight. I have got the snowblower all ready.

It was very icy out there on sunday night... I was changing lane on 404 with a bit of throttle input; my car drifted for a tad but VDC corrected it right away =)

We're getting that same 30cm right now. It started during the night.

The "all I need is front wheel drive and all-seasons" crowd are not so smug this morning. They're driving around
at half the posted speed and crashing into each other like bumpercars on the midway. Luckily I'm at the office
before most of them get out of bed.

we got more snow than i thought we would. my back is still aching from shoveling all that crap yesterday. i was driving down the 403 near hurontario yesterday around noon. it was a disaster. must have been black ice on the road or something b/c the express lane was temporarily shut-down and there were 4 cars in the ditch. one was an FX.. i'm thinking 45 because the rims looked huge. just a reminder that not even awd will save u in crappy conditions.

this morning i came to work and the entire parking lot was ice. still pretty crappy out there. please use your heads when driving and stay safe.

Yeah, I saw on Environment Canada's website that you guys are getting it good up there as well. I leave the office at 3:30 so I'll be ahead of all the p!ss poor drivers during rush hour. The first major storm of the year always has lots of accidents from boneheads that don't know how to slow down.

Drive safe on your way home today Craig.

got dumped on here too, still is falling, digging the car out was probably the hardest part this morning, that and being to sleepy to turn the vdc off to get out of the snow bank. a very slow but suprisingly effect way to get out if to leave the vdc on and keep your foot on the peddle, it crawls very slowly out.
i hate getting plowed in. but once out, man, it just sticks, a little more ground clearance would be nice though, keep truncating the piles of snow between the wheel ruts on the highway. and it makes for that much more shoveling when digging out...

finally, a real winter, i've been getting bored of dry roads.
