free wi-fi?

Hey all

I just bought myself a new HP laptop ....and have an Asus Eee ultra portable laptop on order .....just wondering if there any good places with wi-fi....
I know Starbucks, coffee shops all offer wi-fi....just wondering if anyone knows of some good one as well....

I never had a laptop before....now I have 2, so I just want to make use of my new toys

If you don't mind me asking, where are you ordering your Eee from? I'm very interested in picking up one of these.

As for free wi-fi, more than likely, your neighbours haven't even activated security... I find about 50-60% of the routers in my area are unsecured

Also, try libraries - they often have free hotspots.

I am sure there are numerous internet cafes in Vancouver that you could use. If it were me though, I would look at getting a wireless router for your place and enjoy wireless access from the comfort of your own home. If you go that route, make sure your wireless network is properly secured. That would be something I could help you out with.

I ordered from The Source
http://www.thesourcecc.com/estore/de...language=en-CA
There are lots of the smaller computer store all over the place selling these little units, price is pretty much the same everywhere.

Yep, I heard of a lotta people out there not securing their routers, as I was told by friends to just drive around, park somewhere to see if you can "borrow" someone's bandwidth

Yes, I heard that most libraries do have free wi-fi

Thx
