brakes

I got my brakes fixed today (under the brakes warranty). But now I feel that the new brakes are not as good as before. I even feel my worn out brake pads were more effective than the current ones. For the people who got i fixed also, are yours like that also?

thanks

Re: brakes

How many km's did you have on your car at the time of repair?
Just wondering how many km's people are getting out of their first set of pads.

Re: brakes

Slighty different than you....I can feel the brake is more grabby and sqeeky after I got the new front pads and rotors. And the brakes seem to need more time to warm upto stop the squeeking sound, but also easier to over heat and fade(I saw the white cloud coming out in front of my car after 4-5 hard braking withing 5 min while recording the video.)

My front pads and rotor are done at 24000km service.

Re: brakes

my new brakes don't sqeek or anything... It feels I need to press the brake paddle real deep inorder to stop. Maybe i should call them tomorrow and complain about it. It feels totally different from before and I don't like it.

Re: brakes

oh....did you check your brake fluid level? It seems like your G doesn't hv enough pressure to stop itself.
And my G still has a very sensitive brake after the pad change

Re: brakes

Brakes that stop well normally have softer compound pads and softer rotors. Guess what folks, the new ones are just not as serious. Less pucker factor in this case means longer life and less warrantee concerns. Welcome to more pedestrian performance. Think EBC greenstuff if you want improved feel and performance. But don't expect the longer pad life.

Re: brakes

That's what I thought too. Although I didn't notice a significance braking performance decrease, but I notice the brake pad is harder than before. Which mean that not only it take longer time to go to working temperature, but also easier to overheat....
