Excellent advise! I would do the same.

Also, I am like Shane, I don't associate with my neighbors... I honestly don't like any of them, they have no respect for anything, especially when it comes to parking & blocking the driveway etc......(keep in my I live in a condo)

I purposely don't associate with my neighbours simply because I like my privacy when I am at home. I don't want to get buddy buddy with them so that they are always at my house or talking to me when I am out in my yard. I basically like keeping to myself when I am at home.

Exactly how I feel... which is why I will NEVER buy a house in a "community".

I want acreage with privacy, no house in sight if possible, or at least enough land so that the neighbors can't talk to me... my mom has 5 acres and she is surrounded by trees... no neighbors to talk to or look at, its awesome.

Hermit! Misanthrope! HAHA! This surprises me a little. I know some of my neighbors - the ones beside, 2 across the back, and they are all pretty cool. Normally I'm a keep to myself kinda guy, and like Vasiliy, would vastly prefer to be out of town on an acreage.

Good luck with your fight.

All my dealings with neighbors over the years have been pleasant. I don't go out of my way to buddy up with them, but am on great speaking terms at all times. A couple are good enough friends that we do BBQ/drinks/football game watching from time-to-time.

Seems to help that it was a new house I built and you do tend to know your neighbors better when you share fence and landscaping projects...

LOL!

I am actually a very social person when it comes to work and anything outside of my home, however once I am home I like to keep to myself and enjoy my family life. The last thing I want is my neighbours dropping in unannounced all the time. So yeah, I guess I am a hermit.

Geez, it took 24 posts to have the obligatory southern US weather post here in the Canada section.

He's Canadian, dude... like me. If he moved to Texas, he'd be dead in a week cuz he wouldn't survive his first gun fight.
