Question Ottawa service shop recommendations

I'm looking for a garage that you would suggest I brig my 03 coupe to. I'm needing some basic maintenance done in the near future. Likely fluid changes and brake pads all around.

Where in Ottawa would you suggest, besides the stealership of course. These are slightly outside my comfort level of doing it myself, plus I'm lazy :P.

Do it yourself man!!! I live in Ottawa as well and haven't found any good ones so far. 417 is hit or miss. I have had good and terrible service with them so I avoid them if I can. If you need help doing the basics yourself stop by (I'm in Orleans) and I can show you what little I have been able to do.

So far the list of DIY's I have successfully completed

ZTube
Air Filter
InCabin Microfilter
Oil & Filter Changes
Spark plug change
Tranny and DIFF fluid changes
Brake pad and rotor replacement
Brake fluid flush, fill and bleed
Sway bar install
Rogue Short Shifter Install
Full Exhaust install
5/16 Plenum spacer
ISO Thermal gasket install
Throttle Body Heater install
Front Upper Strut bar

This is starting from basically no mechanical knowledge before I bought the car 4.5 years ago. My only really knowledge was how to fork over money to the dealer and have them steal it from me . G35Driver will teach you basically everything you need - it did for me.

I agree, try to do it yourself. It's quite rewarding and will save you a bunch of money. I do most of the stuff myself, I will even tackle swapping my engine in the next few months.

Good for you ++. I'm gonna try doing the oil in the summer and maybe more.
After watching my brakes being done and a grounding kit installed I bought myself a set of (4) stands and a pump jack. Both are still in the boxes.

BTW what are you swapping your engine for?

There you go, that exactly how it starts. And I still use those jack stands to this day.

I'm replacing my engine with one that has forged rods and low-comp pistons. At the same time, I'll be adding a racing radiator, an oil cooler, injectors, another fuel pump and a fuel return system and a few other goodies. I intend to double the boost to 16-17psi.

I will likely do everything in May.

GL Sounds great. So, you're obviously doing this to get better gas mileage

Cool. I've highlighted the ones I've done and added some others.

Just a question - when you changed your transmission fluid - how much did you put in? The manual says about 2.9 liters so I put in an even 3. It seemed like it could have taken more as the fluid wasn't coming out of the fillhole.

Is that how much you put in? I guess I'm just being paranoid.

Should at least let you know what the general steps are.
