The first top down ride of the year just reaffirms why I love this car so much.
I'm thinking more & more that this just may be "the keeper" for me.

Just bought a Subi Outback with my daughter this morning,
so now I'll have my F-150 for the bulk of the DD duties & keep the mileage off the Z.

I've got a schit load of mods on the slate too.

Thanks, It's a Canon G9 Powershot Digital. I'm guessing we were about 75 feet and I had it zoomed in.

Yeah, did the first wash of the G yesterday along with an oil change. Changed up from Mobil 1 to German castrol after doing some research on oil.

I think we're out of the woods weather wise. Going to switch to all seasons on the other vehicles this weekend.

Still haven't done a good wash yet.. quick rinse only.

You found a source for the Euro Castrol here?
I can't get the Castrol M blend (10W-60) anywhere but the dealer.
The independent BMW tech that does some of the work on my car,
imports an M blend from a small euro mfg (forget the name) that tests out even better than the Euro Castrol.
It works out that I can get him to change my oil, cheaper than I can buy oil at the dealer.

The 0W-30 blend is available several places like Canadian Tire where I bought it. They don't seem to carry a lot of it I've found though. On the back there is a small "made in Germany" notation. I haven't found anywhere else that sells other weights like what you would need or even 5W30. The 10W60 is so unusual. Are there higher temps your car runs at or are tolerances not close?

Good deal on the oil changes. That's a no brainer.

I believe it dates back to when the S54 engine was first introduced & started throwing main bearings.
Spec used to be 5W-30, then was switched to 10W-60.
Sounds like a stop gap measure at the time....
They fixed the bearing issue & just never changed the spec back.

Must have an impact on fuel economy and help to keep oil pressures up. My Caravans run on 5W20 for the other extreme.
