Switch to my 04 headlight to 06 headlights

I have a 04 G35 coupe. I am thinking about changing my headlight to 06 projector headlights. I went to Infiniti dealer at Richmond, BC, and they quota me $1400 for each headlight + 2hr labor @ $120/hr, so more than $3000 in total (what the f**k). I was reading other threads, and people from US can get a pair 06 headlight for about $600 at Infiniti dealer. People changed to 06 headlights in Canada, where did u get your 06 headlights? I know ebay is an option, but i am afraid getting a recall one. Thx.

if its anywhere close to $3000 for the lights, i would not even consider changing the headlights. for that price you could do soo much to the car...orr just pay that $3000 into the loan...or...mods...

Try going to an nissan dealership for the install..they are much better with labour. if you really want them, buy them from ebay and just have a nissan change them.

06 headlights

I have an 05 G35 coupe and i had a few questions. Any helpful insight would be greatly appreciated.
***If i upgrade the lights on my car will it help. OR should i just purchase the 06 projector headlights.

***Also on the 06 projector headlights i have seen an extra bulb on the side of the lower light bulb. Are those the fog lights? Cause my friend has the 06 and the High/Low beams are the projector beam, but his lower light does not turn on. Only the mini one on the side turns on. Im not trying to confuse anyone, but i hope you understand what i mean. Its hard to explain.

The mini lights are the Fog lights, which are very closes to the DRL.
The lights below the projector are DRL only.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

I heard some dealers were selling the recalls for as low as $300.00 U.S.

The bumper needs to unbolted from the wheel wells and then in can be flexed enough to get at the one light bolt behind it or you car take the entire bumper off. Its not a hard install.

I shouldn't speak but I think removing the entire front bumper shouldn't be too hard. I heard you might need to remove the tires to gain access to the bumper though; but if you turn the wheels it shouldn't be a problem.

I referred to the service manual on the site; pretty useful except the section for the interior is removed.

Just did a quick search; some of the guys on here are getting quotes of $500 for a set from Tony@Riverside. Definately buy the set from Tony and get the work done at the dealership or somewhere else. You will still come out way ahead.
