You could literally compound your car for 20-25 years before you ever removed the clear coat and got into the pigmented paint.

Yeah, I'd say that as well, except the clear coat and/or paint on my '99 toyota truck is splitting apart from the inside (hundreds on tiny little *'s of paint cracks close up). I've only worked on it by hand, and only several times with a PC. Anyhow, I was just curious if you felt like you really had to get down on it pretty good to clean it up. It ended up looking fantastic.
