^^ Seems to be about about $15,000 including tax from a quick glance.

Where's the 6.1% duty included in your figures?

Considering he ordered it long before the recent incentive, he saved much more than $8500.

Looks very good. The only thing I see missing is the 6.1% duty for a car made in Japan and imported from the US. that will add another $2200- $2400 or so. If you haven't been charged that I wonder when the tax man will come knocking.

Wow! Consider yourself a very lucky man, they goofed at the Cdn border then. You should've paid over $2k in import duties when you paid the GST before they let you bring it into Cda. I doubt they'll come after you for it now because they're probably not that sophisticated to even realize it.

I asked the the lady handling the paper work if I had to pay any more taxes, she said no, I did not argue.

My friend who imported a BMW 550 said he was not charged it as well. I wonder if they do not charge it b/c the vehicle was shipped into Canada on a trailor?

The same car here would be 56-58K and change after taxes so I think the savings is a little greater than $8500

During the period you bought your G35xS, and right now, there is a $4,500 incentive on cash purchases on the G35xS and $2,500 on financed purchases. the OP ordered the car before this incentive came into play so at that time he saved either an additonal $2,500 or $4,500 depending on the way he purchased his car.

+1. Great car and hopefully their goof up won't come back to asking you for the duties fee. I would still keep 2200-2400 in a high interest savings account (if there is a such thing ) incase they do decide to charge you down the road.

You should check out the current rates. 4% was a while back my friend. It's 3.05 now (on balances over 1K) plus a tiny anniversary bonus based on your balance $$.
