I asked the the lady handling the paper work if I had to pay any more taxes, she said no, I did not argue. 
My friend who imported a BMW 550 said he was not charged it as well. I wonder if they do not charge it b/c the vehicle was shipped into Canada on a trailor?
The same car here would be 56-58K and change after taxes so I think the savings is a little greater than $8500
