Where are you guys getting your OEM clutch & flywheels from?

My car is currently getting the transmission replaced, and the dealership is suggesting that I get my OEM clutch & flywheel replaced with new ones. They showed me the flywheel and said that it had 2 burn marks on it, which will cause chattering with the new trans.

They have quoted me $1500.00 for the new flywheel and clutch, and no labor charges.

It's better to buy aftermarket from a local shop and have them install, it'll still be cheaper than $1500

the clutch plate, throw-out bearing, pilot bushing etc... are included with the new tranny (except for pressure plate). you shouldn't be paying anything for them (i'm assuming this work is under warranty).

my tranny was replaced under warranty and this is what i learned. flywheel, if required, is your own dime. the dealer will always try and sell you on a new one. go aftermarket, or at least at an independent supplier, for the oem unit.

Well I walked into the shop as they were replacing the tranny. I saw the box that Nissan shipped the dealership with the new trans. Attached to the box was a smaller box that just had the disc in it. There was no new clutch plate, throw-out bearing or pilot-bushing from what I saw, and the dealership said it wouldn't be included.

I got the car back today, and the IACV is definitely off...on warm restarts, the car's idle drops down to the point that the motor shuts off. I will need to take it back tomorrow to have it adjusted.

The clutch pedal is much lighter than before, and more "springy". Has anyone else experienced that?

The engagement point is MUCH higher now than before. Is this normal? Any way to adjust?

^^^ by "clutch plate" i meant the disc. that's weird about the other parts though, they were included in my replacement...

Okay, if clutchplate = disc, then that was replaced. However other parts were not. I am a little annoyed with how high the enagement point seems now, and how the clutch feels far more springy/light...but I guess this is normal unfortunately.
