what are your thoughts on the 350Z?

My Bro is selling his 01' Maxima for a drop top 350Z he is looking for an 05' and newer, what are your thoughts on this car as in highs and lows? also if there are any known problems with the car I wouldn't mind knowing.
I think its a nice car but not much of a fan of the drop tops unless you do some mods which my Bro will surley end up doing.

Wasn't there an issue with the front suspension and the extreme tire wear on the 350z's?

Yeah, there was, but it was within the early production models (2003-2004), as long as you stay above '05, you should be good. The front end in the those earlier models had camber issues and were prone to easy misalignment. Apparently, the uneven tire wear was something horrific as was the 'tire roar'.

that was 03-04 models.

If anything he should look for an 07+ car from the US. The new HR motor is leaps and bounds better than the DE. And the 05-06's are prone to burning oil, which is covered under warranty for a brand new engine.

The drop-top is ugly. The coupe is sexy as hell though. The drop-tops back is too long to me.

Anyone know when the next generation is coming out?

7 years is a fairly long amount of time for one gen., especially in todays car markets.
