What type of autotrader ads work best?
It's not easy to let go of this car, but I really want to buy a house and $650 monthly payments will leave me feeling too house/car poor.
Those of you who have used autotrader to sell a car in the past, which ad types work best?
Are there any other places I should consider advertising the G? (Other than craigslist.org)
TIA
Christian.

Before I got the G I listed my car in Autotrader. I had no luck with them. They made all kinds of suggestions and I don't blame them. But I just had ZERO luck with them.
Eventually, I listed it on CL (Craigslist) and I got a lot of tire kickers, but an interested buyer came and closed on it all within the same day.
Good luck!

Craigslist is a good place, also list the car on the forums. I don't know how well AutoTrader works, never use it. You could also see if you can park it on a really busy street corner parking lot (talk to the owner of store or whatever).
Some others to try:

Hey Christian....
That's too bad to have to sell, but your reasoning is very sound.
I still miss my Z a LOT, but it had to be done & there will be other cars down the road.
I've sold a lot of cars over the years & have always had the best luck with AT.
It really comes down to value & quality....
If you're trying to max your sell $, you have to convey that the car is buff, that it has been well kept & is better than any other G listed.
Look at the other listings to get a feel for the competition.
For a private sale make sure to note the tax savings.
Most people also ask why you are selling.
I guess they're afraid of someone flipping out of a problem car.
It really helps to put the reason in the add.
"I really hate to sell, but......"
If you have good records, be sure to note that.
When I sold my cars I always noted the oil test reports.
Anyway I hope it goes smoothly for you, good luck with it.

I threw an ad up on a few of the free ones, and I also added it to the facebook marketplace. My dad also said it might be a good idea to list it in the Calgary Herald for a week, but I'm not sure about spending $62 for a 3 line b/w ad.
^^^ Down here in the states most newspaper ads are automatically added to cars.com as well.
I sold my high school car on AutoTrader. It took a while because it was a modded JDM Vtec Prelude, but eventually I got almost what I wanted for it. I included several pictures and a pretty detailed description, but not so detailed as to make the buyer work to read my ad.

I've sold many cars and one recently using a few sources and I can share various experiences with you.
Firstly do not do not do not do not use canadacarfinder.ca its a scam, I know, I'm out $150 cause of it and if you google CF.ca you will find details about the scam.
Craigslist and Kijiji are web sites that generate alot of traffic and you will get lots of interest.....all though most are no where near serious and those that want to be aren't willing to pay a fair price. There are diamonds in the rough though, right place right time, doesn't happen often.
Autotrader is hit and miss, its about timing, the inquries are less than CL and Kijiji but more serious for sure. I would say if you use autotrader take out a medium sized add. The few extra dollars ensures that the book readers wont skip over it by accident or something, its worked the best for me.
Most importantly over the years I found the season plays a role. Summer is the best time for any vehicle really, fall for others and spring is sports car weather. Never sold a car in winter before.
I'd say the time of year is good for people looking for a new sport luxury sedan for a used car price and infiniti has a good name. Do a little research to find out the low and high asking/selling values of your exact/similar car and price it somewhere in the middle so thats attractive to buyers but still fair for you with some buffer to move in case you need too.
Good luck and hope this helped you out in some way.

Please get your facts straight before you post about a website.
Canada Car Finders is NOT the site to which you are referring. We DO NOT charge for posting ads, therefore we DO NOT offer a "refund".
I suggest you http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=%22canadian+auto+finder%22+%22scam%22&btnG=Search&meta= Canadian Auto Finder "scam", you will find information about how THEY operate.
The local TV station here in Vancouver has done a feature on them and their unhappy customers.
I continually have to deal with feedback from THEIR seller's who come to me asking for a refund for their ad listing.
I will not comment further about them, I'll let them deal with their own "stuff"
I am proud that my website offers value and service. We take care of our customers. I am constantly battling scammers online to protect my customers and I provide information about avoiding scammers.
I'm open to any comments or questions.
Thank you for accommodating my rant!
EDIT - to comment on the OP's question, for sure show your car in it's best form, clean, everything in good order, CARFAX or Carproof if possible. Place it in high quality sites. Craig's LIst IS good for a lot of exposure. Show lots of good quality photos. And watch out for scammers!
