So I changed to turning lane the other day only to find out that ran over fresh road paint. Now the yellow crap is all over my driver's side tires, side skirts, rear bumper, and wheel wells.

How would I go about cleaning that up?

I tried Goo Gone, didn't work well. I tried scraping with a chisel (only on wheelwell, wouldn't risk it on painted part), that got some thick ones off, but I don't want to scratch it.

Any suggestions?

They should put warning signs like "Wet Paint"

That is the only thing i can see saving you right now.

 

Oh Man, that sucks...... That crap is really tough paint!!!
Paint thinners should work in the wheel wells & on the tire itself.
I wouldn't use it on the paint though, it easily dulls the clearcoat.
If it's hardened on you may have to wet sand.

BUT....
Your 1st thought is the best one, don't do anything untill you hear from Kevin.
I'd drop him an email.

Any chance you documented the incident?
You might be able to get it done by a pro (Kevin) & send the bill to the town.

A medium grit clay bar will almost certainly take it off your paint, especially when it's still fresh.

You may be able to get compensated for this.

I doubt I have any evidence considering I don't even know WHERE it was... I just know I went home and parked the car and opened the driver's door and then... OMGWTF kinda thing happened. I couldn't even recall where I went.

But I'll try claybar, time to make a trip to Crappy Tires

 

I wouldnt use anything other than claybar when its on paint, basically too risky. I agree with Intgr8r, see if you can document it and make a claim. Thats your best bet.

 

Are the following pics good enough for evidence? Who am I suppose to claim to? City of Richmond Hill? I don't even know what street had the wet paint..

 

I remember getting road paint on one of my parents car's before. My cousin used a clay bar and it worked wonders.

 

for the splash guards i would use a green pad very lightly inside the fender well

 

You're right.
You would have had to document the scene to have any chance of a claim.

 

I used something called Goof Off to get the same road paint off of my wife's car fender- worked great. Just be sure to wash and re-wax area you use it on.
