Throttle Body Cleaning
Throttle Body Cleaning
I trying search the forum but didn't find what I was looking for, so i hope i'm not asking questions which have already been answer many times.
I saw the DIY for cleaning your throttle body, but was not too sure about the whole "Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning, Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning and Idle Air Volume Learning" thing at the end.
Are you really suppose to perform all those test? And how often should you clean it?
Thanks in advance guys.

BE VERY CAREFUL!!! Many of us have had the dreaded P0507 code after (high idle issue), and often the dealership will force you to get a new throttle body, as being the only fix around it.
When I cleaned my TB, I ran into a lot of issues with high idle. I finally was able to fiddle around, peform the accelerator/throttle/idle-air relearns, and finally got the idle back to normal. The local stealership didn't do any of these re-learns, and told me that geting a new TB was the only fix...

You should not have to do the throttle valve closed position and air volume learning just be sure to disconnect the battery b4 servicing the throttle body if you do it yourself.

I'm getting a rough idle i had my spark plugs,& filter changed recently, should I perform the Throttle body cleaning, is there a way to clean the throttle body without disconecting it? of if I disconnect the battery before i unplug the TB is there a need to do those learning procedures? will cleaning the TB make the bad idle go away?
yes dont do it unless u have to... i got an extra tb if u do decide to try it.... i did and had high idle and ses light got new tb and the did relearn atleast 40 times b4 it took
