Yea well, everyone will hate it until they are riding with that careless friend or girlfriend that swings your passenger door open too far and chips the paint on your door.

Then your thanking god for that ugly yet functional strip. Somtimes parking lot douchebags can't be avoided no matter how far you park from the mall....

Yeah, but then your ugly door trim protector gets all scratched and dented up, making it look uglier than it already is! It's like a no win situation!

I've seen it around before but as mixture said I believe it was on the earlier models. I personally dont like how it looks, however it'll put your mind at ease since people like to swing their doors open sometimes...
