I bought a US model in Canada and apparently it has the DRL functioning. I wonder if the previous owner was a member in this forum.

anyways, great write up!! went through it thoroughly and found it very informative and helpful!! keep it up

When a US car is brought into Canada to be registered and licensed for Canadian roads, the car must have Day Time Running Lights.

Does anyone here have a copy of the DIY?

The link on page 1 no longer works.

Sorry to revive an older thread, but I didn't want to start a new thread... as I always start with the SEARCH button first!

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks guys!

Thank you very much for the link!

The DIY seems to be based on a US 06+ Projector into our CDN cars.

Does anyone know if the CDN 06+ Projectors requires having to do everything listed in the DIY?

I would think so but don't take my word for it. I bought my '04 with the lights already swapped but not working correctly (my real issue was the driver side turn signal flashed double speed) I did the DIY and it fixed that up great. The DRL isn't a big deal if you don't need an inspection. And AFAIK the turn signal thing is the only other problem with swapping.

The hyper blinker signal light is easily fixed with a rewiring of the grounded wires on the headlights. The big problem is with the DRL/high beams. The older reflectors in 2003 shared the same bulb between the high beams and the DRL module. The USA projector headlights are not wired with DRL in mind, the high beams are no longer wired to a light bulb, it is wired to a solenoid. Without any re wiring the DRL module will only activate the high beam solenoid. I did a quick write up on it with some horrible paint art as a wiring diagram.

^ hey bro I just messaged you. I basically want to fix my hyperblinking issue with your simple rewiring fix, but I don't feel like doing the whole DRL thing.

bump, I didn't get a message back from G35 dude, does anyone else know what he's talking about ???

all I'm trying to do is fix my hyperblinking issue, I don't care for the complete DRL swap. He says it's a simple fix by rewiring the grounded wires on the headlights, can someone please explain to me in detail because I need to do this ASAP!

thanks
