WHAT!?

I've been driving range hunting this summer and $12-$15 a bucket, which gets you 80-100 *****, is the norm! These are outdoor places with real grass, a grass putting area, and a grass chipping area too, so I don't know how that compares to what you've got in Van.

But damn. Double.

The places I've found are all 15-20mins north of the Toronto border, so I don't have any suggestions for the OP.

^ this is all news to me. i thought Vancouver had some of the most inflated costs of living in Canada. i guess TO would be up there too, but certainly not more so than here.

every driving range here is "real grass" (except 2 astroturf ranges), and most have chipping/putting areas as well. i'd say average would be $4-$6 for a bucket of 60-75 *****. and these are all courses in Vancouver proper.

maybe you guys get soaked because your ranges are only open for 8 months, whereas ours are year-round???

it would be stupid for a range to use a pro v-1 ball since they are the softer ball which is the reason most pro's use them. Allows for better control and accuracy. I would assume most pro's switch to a different ball when teeing off if they are using a driver.

They are not allowed to switch *****. Its play with what you have when you tee off. Unless the ball gets damaged or lost...your stuck with it.

^^ of course it would not be the best business practice for a range to use Pro V's, but that's the only way i could see justifying a $15 token. the range would lose a ton of Pro V's due to theft, not attrition.

and the cover of a Pro V is actually very durable, while maintaining a soft feel. that's the beauty of them: incredible distance AND short game feel and spin. a pro could switch their ball after each hole, but not during (unless the ball becomes unplayable).

OP - sorry this has gotten of topic...

On Kennedy (north of Major Mac), there is a golf range charging $12 for a large bucket of 98 *****. Good practice facility too.

You mean a pitching wedge? They are sold separately if you need one.

Are you a lefty or a righty?

Try Golf Town or Nevada Bobs...

Ohhhh discount??? I was at the dome, gotta luv hitting that target up at the top. I am playing at Goldenridge - Stoufville and 404, I bought a pass $200 for 20 jumbo buckets. Its close to home and it has a half tent with mats, green area, chipping green, bunker too.

Just up on Bloomington is Bloomington Downs, I have so many options up here in Oak Ridges - Aurora area.

But definately see what you can do on a group deal, you have 2 bodies from me already.

thats too bad, i wonder why.

if you're looking for a pitching iron, check out some golf course pro shops if you have no luck at the stores suggested so far. I would imagine you would get a better deal at the pro shops since they need to get rid of inventory since the season is coming to an end where the golf stores that are yr round might not offer as much incentive to buy.
