New: Shaky brakes and pad+disc service in GTA ?
Hi everyone first of all it was great to meet a lot of G owners today at the falltour. i am definitely in for the next meet.
While coming from Kawartha to home, i realized when i brake at high speed, i feel this shaky noise coming from back and i feel it from the steering wheel. Then i remembered the Stealer told me couple of months ago that my rear brake's remained 20%. (don't bash me I work at a bank 10 hours a day non-stop all week :P) I probably finished my rear brake pads and realized the disc got a bit scraped too.(probably 0.3cm)
My question is where can i get good brake pads and possibly discs for my 2003 g 35 AT in GTA , thank god they are not brembo
I read a lot about Hawk pads, or any other altertnatives, or original from dealer?
I am ok to go to Simone performance if it worth travelling 76 miles.
All advices are greatly appreciated !
Thank you Musti.
p.s: i know this is not the first thread abour brakes in the Canadian section however most of them were out-dated topics.

Vic Simone is the guy to see.
He knows his stuff and is a great guy to deal with. Its definitely worth the drive up to Newmarket.
I'm running Hawks HP's on my sedan. They are not as aggressive as OEM but they do the trick. Plus I don't get the dust on my rims like the OEM pads gave off.
Give Vic a call and he will set you straight.

The shaking you are feeling is probably warped discs which is entirely likely if they are the originals.
You may be able to turn them down enough to cure the issue but with less metal remaining, the issue will return and quickly.
Replacement is the answer, and a safer way to go since new discs are stout and less likely to warp or break.
Along with new discs should come new pads, but as Bill says, see Vic Simone for advice. I've not dealt with him but I know many here have and have only good things to say about him.
I wouldn't hesitate to take my ride(s) to him.
He'll probably want to drain, flush, and refill the brake fluid system which would be good to do if not done yet.

update: was at Simone Performance yesterday. What a nice and friendly people they are. Steve , Vic and Christine . We put hawk brake pads and new rotors, it was definitley better job and cheaper deal then dealer, with the difference, i got to change the differential fluid and transmission oil too.
not regretting at all driving to new market
actually i liked the roads there .
