To call the Genesis a knockoff of the G is simply not fair to Hyundai. There is only so many ways you can style a two door coupe before it becomes unacceptable to the general public. Many cars including the G coupe share common design elements, to make them acceptable to the the masses.

That said, the new Geneisis coupe is definitely not a bad looking car, but the original G35 coupe still takes the styling win over the G37, 350z, 370z and Genesis - but that is my own worthless opinion

I agree and disagree with King above, you can only do so much with a coupe before it becomes unacceptable to the public. However, if you look at Audi Coupe S5 or R8, BMW Coupe or M3 and Honda S2000. I'll give Honda credit for that super car. Each one of these design are very similar and different at the same time, but its the slightest tweak and design that will give you the recognition that it truly deserve.

So, I think Hyundai did copy the G very much so in terms of the exterior design. And i don't think Hyundai can create a beast like the beastier G haha i know its not a word that it sounds meaner. IMO

when the Genisis comes out these 2 cars will compete like the the Neon SRT4 and the Cobalt SS, they are going to be in complete compitition with eachother.

I have to say I am not a fan on hyundia...but I looked at the genesis up close at SEMA and it was WAY nice....

they had the 4 door and 2 door versions...

the 4 door was all VIP'd out and looked really good... I was very impressed...

they had the 2 door turbo'd version and V6... HKS did a GT28 on the turbo'd version and I talked to the guy, he said they where maken 280wh on low boost on pump gas...no bad I thought...

I have heard the motor in the turbo'd version is the same motor out of the EVO...if this is true and the drivtrain can handle it then it should be a badass car...

only time will tell.....

Yes, the G coupe isn't its direct rival, it is the 370z as they are closer in price/performance.

The other rival will be the 300hp V6 Camaro & V6 Mustang (If ford ever decides to give it the Ecoboost V6).

same badass motor found in the SRT-4 and the EVO. Has a lot of potential, especially being in a player in a small niche market..

Lets look at the models in terms of its layout.

370Z = 2 seater hardtop roadster

G37 = 2 + 2 seater sport coupe

Genesis Coupe = 2 + 2 seater sport coupe

Therefore, 370Z is NOT in the same category as the Genesis Coupe, nor is the G37. In conclusion, Genesis Coupe and G37 DO compete against each other.

What does the 370Z compete against?

BMW Z4
Audi TT
Honda S2000
