Grinding into 3rd?

I'm pretty consistently grinding the gears shifting into third these days, usually happens more often when just starting out before the car has warmed up.

Maybe I'm just too quick on the clutch but I don't think I've changed my driving habits that much and it never used to do this.. the clutch pedal is all the way in and it just feels like the gears haven't disengaged yet.. anyone else having a similar problem?

Re: Grinding into 3rd?

I have this problem with 2nd when the car is cold, I need to shift very slowly to avoid it. After the car is up to operating temps its much better, but not 100% perfect. All other gears are fine except sometimes I will slighlty grind 3rd if I'm a little to quick with the clutch. If you can reproduce the grind at a dealer the only fix is to replace your tranny.

Re: Grinding into 3rd?

I heard the rogue engineering short shifter is amazing. I heard it is a bit of a shorter shift and every shift makes it a lot smoother and no more notchyness and uncertainty between shifts. Yes we all know that NOTCHINESS still pain in the butt. If you guys/gurls ever driven BMW or HONDA cars with stick, it'll be smoother as it is. I gotta find a price on the Rogue short shifter and get them installed.

Re: Grinding into 3rd?

Sounds to me like your tranny is starting to have the same issues as many 6M/T owners to date. Their syncro problems have made a new tranny necessary, and some are on their 2nd and 3rd box.
Time for a trip to Guelph Infiniti.

WolfsterX, Just call them and make an appointment. They'll want to see your ride to do an evaluation.
G/L with the fix and see you at the next meet.
